Profhilo Belfast

Profhilo is an exclusive, revolutionary, new treatment that works to tighten the skin instead of fill it. Dr. David Buchanan, at Facial Aesthetics NI, is delighted to be one of the first practitioners in Northern Ireland to offer this amazing treatment.

Although, Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid-based treatment, it is completely different to traditional dermal fillers, and works via bio-remodelling of the skin. This is the latest cutting-edge treatment in facial aesthetics.

Profhilo remodels the skin by stimulating the production of four different types of collagen and elastin. This is the only product currently available that will do this.

It will improve the skin’s laxity, tone, texture, hydration, and vibrancy. The product spreads beneath the skin surface and increases the skin’s firmness and elasticity to give both a tightening and lifting effect.

Benefits of Profhilo

  1. Healthy and more vibrant skin
  2. Less noticeable lines and wrinkles
  3. Reduces loose and drooping skin
  4. Improves skin laxity
  5. No recovery time needed
  6. Long lasting effects
  7. No painful surgery needed
  8. Verified safe

Profhilo in Belfast – The Procedure

Dr. David Buchanan uses a safe injection technique called BAP injection points (Bio Aesthetic injection points) where 5 points are injected on each side of the face. Profhilo is injected into the mid third and lower third of the face, where dermal laxity is experienced as a result of age, diet and lifestyle. These minimal injection points will not only reduce the number of visits, but also patient discomfort.

Before treatment is carried out, Dr. Buchanan will do a thorough consultation to assess the patient’s suitability for treatment and discuss the likely results.

Treatable areas with Profhilo

It can be used on the face, neck, and décolletage. On the body, it can treat the hands, upper arms and above the knees.

Before & After

Before Profhilo Treatment

Prior to treatment with Profhilo, patients will need to have a face-to-face consultation with Dr. Buchanan to assess suitability. If a patient has recently had any other filler or toxin treatment in the same area, then they may need to wait before having treatment with Profhilo. This will all be discussed during the thorough consultation process.

In order to reduce the risk of bruising, patients should avoid alcohol and, if safe to do so, also avoid anti-inflammatories, aspirin, and food supplements that may cause blood thinning unless prescribed by a doctor.

After Profhilo Treatment

The downtime is minimal. When a patient is injected using the five-point injection technique on each side of the face, each injection is immediately noticeable. However, the product starts diffusing very quickly, and then completely disappears within 24 hours.

After treatment, it is recommended to avoid physical exercise and sports for 24 hours, and swimming for 48 hours.

Patients should also avoid having further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours.

It is not recommended to have a sauna or a steam bath for the first few days either. It’s also best to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions about Profhilo Treatment, Belfast

Profhilo is an innovative injectable treatment that has gained significant attention in the field of aesthetic medicine. It offers a unique approach to skin rejuvenation, addressing skin laxity and signs of ageing in a way that differs from traditional dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle treatments. Understanding Profhilo’s composition and mechanism of action helps explain its revolutionary impact on skin rejuvenation.

    Composition and formulation

Profhilo’s unique formulation sets it apart from other injectable treatments.

    High concentration hyaluronic acid

Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA) available in an injectable treatment. This high-purity HA is produced through bio-fermentation, ensuring a stable and safe product.

    Thermal crosslinking

The HA in Profhilo is thermally crosslinked, creating a stable gel that breaks down slowly in the body, allowing for longer-lasting effects without the use of chemical crosslinking agents.

    Mechanism of action

Profhilo works differently from traditional fillers, offering multi-level benefits to the skin.

    Bio-remodelling

Rather than simply filling wrinkles, Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, leading to overall skin remodelling. This process improves skin quality, firmness, and elasticity.

    Hydration boost

The high concentration of HA provides intense hydration to the skin, improving its texture and appearance from within.

    Treatment areas and applications

Profhilo’s versatility allows for treatment of various areas of concern.

    Facial rejuvenation

Commonly used on the face, Profhilo can address issues such as skin laxity, fine lines, and overall skin quality. It’s particularly effective for areas like the cheeks, neck, and around the mouth.

    Body treatments

Profhilo can also be used on areas of the body prone to skin laxity, such as the neck, décolletage, arms, and hands.

    Treatment process and results

The Profhilo treatment protocol is designed for optimal results with minimal downtime.

    BAP technique

Profhilo is typically administered using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique, involving strategic injection points for optimal product distribution and minimal discomfort.

    Treatment cycle

A standard treatment course involves two sessions, spaced about one month apart. Results can be seen gradually, with optimal effects typically visible after the second treatment.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo offers significant skin rejuvenation benefits, it’s not a replacement for all other aesthetic treatments. Its unique action complements rather than replaces treatments like dermal fillers or botulinum toxin injections, often providing synergistic effects when used as part of a comprehensive skincare regimen.

Every patient’s skin is unique, and the results of Profhilo can vary based on factors such as age, skin condition, and lifestyle. A consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to determine if Profhilo is suitable for your specific skin concerns and to develop a personalised treatment plan that may include Profhilo alongside other complementary treatments for optimal skin rejuvenation.

Profhilo represents a significant advancement in injectable aesthetics, offering a unique approach to skin rejuvenation that sets it apart from traditional treatments. Understanding these differences can help patients and practitioners alike appreciate Profhilo’s distinctive place in the spectrum of aesthetic treatments.

    Composition and formulation

Profhilo’s unique formulation is a key differentiator from other injectable treatments.

    Pure hyaluronic acid

Unlike dermal fillers that often contain additives or crosslinking agents, Profhilo is composed of pure, high-concentration hyaluronic acid. This purity contributes to its biocompatibility and natural integration with skin tissues.

    Absence of chemical cross-linking

Most dermal fillers use chemical cross-linking to stabilise the hyaluronic acid. Profhilo, however, uses thermal stabilisation, resulting in a product that spreads more easily through tissues and stimulates natural collagen production.

    Mechanism of action

Profhilo works differently from both dermal fillers and skin boosters.

    Bio-remodelling effect

Rather than simply filling wrinkles or providing superficial hydration, Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This bio-remodelling effect leads to improved skin quality, elasticity, and firmness from within.

    Widespread tissue integration

Profhilo’s unique formulation allows it to spread through a larger area when injected, providing more widespread benefits compared to traditional fillers that remain localised to the injection site.

    Treatment approach

The administration of Profhilo differs from other injectable treatments.

    BAP technique

Profhilo is typically administered using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique, involving just five injection points on each side of the face. This approach differs from the multiple injection points often required for dermal fillers or mesotherapy treatments.

    Treatment cycle

A standard Profhilo treatment involves two sessions spaced about one month apart, with results developing gradually. This differs from single-session filler treatments or the multiple sessions often required for other skin boosters.

    Results and longevity

The nature of Profhilo’s results sets it apart from other treatments.

    Overall skin quality improvement

While dermal fillers focus on adding volume to specific areas, Profhilo improves overall skin quality, addressing issues like skin laxity, hydration, and texture across the treated area.

    Natural-looking results

The gradual onset of results and the stimulation of the body’s own regenerative processes lead to natural-looking improvements, avoiding the risk of over-filling or an unnatural appearance.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo offers unique benefits, it’s not necessarily a replacement for all other skin treatments. In many cases, Profhilo can complement other aesthetic procedures, working synergistically to provide comprehensive skin rejuvenation. The choice between Profhilo and other treatments depends on individual patient needs, concerns, and desired outcomes.

Every patient’s skin is unique, and the most appropriate treatment or combination of treatments can vary significantly from person to person. A thorough consultation with a qualified aesthetic practitioner is essential to determine whether Profhilo, another treatment, or a combination approach would be most suitable for achieving your specific skin rejuvenation goals. Your practitioner will consider factors such as your age, skin condition, previous treatments, and lifestyle to create a personalised treatment plan.

Profhilo is renowned for its unique formulation, which sets it apart from other injectable treatments in aesthetic medicine. Understanding its key ingredients helps explain its effectiveness in skin rejuvenation and its popularity among both practitioners and patients.

    Hyaluronic acid composition

The primary and most crucial ingredient in Profhilo is hyaluronic acid (HA).

    High molecular weight HA

Profhilo contains a high concentration of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. This form of HA is known for its excellent ability to retain moisture, providing significant hydration to the skin.

    Low molecular weight HA

In addition to high molecular weight HA, Profhilo also incorporates low molecular weight hyaluronic acid. This smaller molecule can penetrate deeper into the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production.

    Unique HA formulation

What truly distinguishes Profhilo is not just the presence of HA, but how it’s formulated.

    NAHYCO technology

Profhilo is created using patented NAHYCO technology, which involves thermal crosslinking of the HA molecules. This process stabilises the HA without the need for chemical crosslinking agents, resulting in a pure, highly biocompatible product.

    Concentration levels

The product contains one of the highest concentrations of HA available in injectable treatments, typically 32mg/ml of hyaluronic acid. This high concentration contributes to its potent hydrating and bio-remodelling effects.

    Absence of additives

Unlike many other injectable treatments, Profhilo is characterised by what it doesn’t contain.

    No chemical crosslinking agents

The absence of chemical crosslinking agents, commonly used in dermal fillers, contributes to Profhilo’s excellent safety profile and its ability to integrate naturally with the skin.

    Free from additives

Profhilo doesn’t contain any additives, preservatives, or other synthetic compounds. This purity minimises the risk of adverse reactions and allows for the product’s unique spreading and integration properties.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo’s ingredient list is simple, consisting primarily of hyaluronic acid, its effectiveness lies in the innovative way these ingredients are combined and processed. The result is a product that not only provides intense hydration but also stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative processes.

Every patient’s skin responds differently to treatments, and the effects of Profhilo can vary based on individual factors such as age, skin condition, and lifestyle. A consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to understand how Profhilo’s unique formulation can benefit your specific skin concerns and to determine if it’s the most suitable treatment for your needs.

Profhilo has gained popularity as a versatile skin rejuvenation treatment, suitable for a wide range of individuals. However, like any aesthetic procedure, it’s most effective for certain types of patients with specific skin concerns. Understanding who makes an ideal candidate for Profhilo can help both practitioners and patients make informed decisions about treatment options.

    Age range considerations

Profhilo can benefit individuals across various age groups, but its effectiveness may vary.

    Preventative treatment

Younger patients, typically in their late 20s to early 40s, may use Profhilo as a preventative measure to maintain skin quality and delay signs of ageing. For this group, Profhilo can help preserve skin elasticity and hydration.

    Corrective treatment

Older patients, generally 40 and above, often see significant benefits from Profhilo in addressing existing signs of ageing such as skin laxity, fine lines, and overall loss of skin quality.

    Skin concerns addressed

Profhilo is particularly effective for certain skin issues.

    Skin laxity

Individuals experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity, where the skin has begun to lose its firmness and elasticity, are excellent candidates for Profhilo treatment.

    Dehydrated skin

Those with dry or dehydrated skin can benefit significantly from Profhilo’s intense hydrating properties, which can improve skin texture and overall appearance.

    Lifestyle factors

Certain lifestyle characteristics can make someone a particularly good candidate for Profhilo.

    Healthy lifestyle

Individuals who maintain a healthy lifestyle, including proper skincare, balanced diet, and adequate hydration, often see enhanced and longer-lasting results from Profhilo treatments.

    Non-smokers

Non-smokers or those who have recently quit smoking are ideal candidates, as smoking can significantly impact skin health and potentially diminish treatment results.

    Treatment preferences

Profhilo may be particularly appealing to certain types of aesthetic patients.

    Natural results seekers

Individuals looking for subtle, natural-looking improvements in skin quality rather than dramatic volume changes are often excellent candidates for Profhilo.

    Low-maintenance patients

Those who prefer treatments with minimal downtime and a relatively infrequent treatment schedule (typically two sessions spaced a month apart) may find Profhilo particularly appealing.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo is suitable for many individuals, it may not be the best option for everyone. Patients with certain medical conditions, allergies to hyaluronic acid, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not be suitable candidates for treatment.

Every patient’s situation is unique, and the suitability of Profhilo treatment can depend on a variety of individual factors including skin type, medical history, and aesthetic goals. A thorough consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to determine if Profhilo is the most appropriate treatment for your specific needs and to develop a personalised treatment plan that may include Profhilo alongside other complementary skincare treatments or procedures.

Profhilo’s versatility as a bio-remodelling treatment allows it to be used on various areas of the face and body. Its unique formulation and ability to spread within the tissues make it effective for addressing skin laxity, hydration, and overall skin quality in multiple regions. Understanding the range of treatable areas can help patients and practitioners explore the full potential of this innovative treatment.

    Facial applications

The face is the most common area for Profhilo treatments, with several specific regions benefiting from its effects.

    Mid and lower face

Profhilo is particularly effective in treating the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. It can help improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and enhance overall skin quality in these areas.

    Perioral region

The area around the mouth, including smoker’s lines and chin, can be effectively treated with Profhilo, helping to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

    Neck and décolletage

These areas often show signs of ageing and can benefit significantly from Profhilo treatment.

    Neck rejuvenation

Profhilo can address skin laxity and crepey texture on the neck, helping to improve the overall appearance and firmness of the skin in this delicate area.

    Chest area

The décolletage, which is prone to sun damage and loss of elasticity, can be treated with Profhilo to improve skin quality and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

    Body treatments

Profhilo’s applications extend beyond the face and neck to various body areas.

    Arms

The upper arms, particularly the area prone to ‘bingo wings’, can benefit from Profhilo’s skin-tightening and hydrating effects.

    Hands

Profhilo can be used to rejuvenate the hands, addressing volume loss and improving skin texture, which can be particularly beneficial as hands often show early signs of ageing.

    Specialised areas

Some practitioners use Profhilo in less conventional areas for specific concerns.

    Knees and elbows

These areas, which can show signs of ageing and dryness, may benefit from Profhilo’s hydrating and skin-improving properties.

    Abdomen

In some cases, Profhilo can be used to improve skin quality and elasticity on the abdomen, particularly after pregnancy or weight loss.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo can be used in many areas, the specific treatment plan should be tailored to each individual’s needs and concerns. The number of treatments and the amount of product used may vary depending on the area being treated and the extent of skin laxity or other concerns.

Every patient’s anatomy and skin condition are unique, and the most suitable treatment areas can vary from person to person. A thorough consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to determine which areas would benefit most from Profhilo treatment in your specific case. Your practitioner will consider factors such as your skin quality, areas of concern, and overall aesthetic goals to create a personalised treatment plan that may include Profhilo alongside other complementary treatments for optimal results.

Profhilo treatments are known for their efficiency, making them an attractive option for patients with busy lifestyles. The duration of a Profhilo session is generally quite short, but it’s important to understand that the entire appointment may involve more than just the injection time. Let’s break down the typical timeline of a Profhilo treatment session.

    Pre-treatment consultation

Before the actual treatment, there’s usually a brief consultation or review.

    Medical history review

Your practitioner will typically spend a few minutes reviewing your medical history and any changes since your last visit. This is crucial for ensuring the treatment’s safety and appropriateness.

    Treatment area assessment

The practitioner will examine the areas to be treated, which may involve taking photographs for before-and-after comparisons. This usually takes about 5-10 minutes.

    Preparation for treatment

Some preparatory steps are necessary before the injections begin.

    Cleansing

The treatment areas will be thoroughly cleansed to minimise the risk of infection. This process typically takes just a few minutes.

    Marking injection points

If following the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, the practitioner may mark the specific injection points on your skin. This usually takes about 5 minutes.

    The injection process

The actual Profhilo injection procedure is relatively quick.

    BAP technique injections

Using the standard BAP technique, which involves 5 injection points on each side of the face, the injection process typically takes about 10-15 minutes.

    Additional areas

If treating areas beyond the face, such as the neck or hands, this may add an additional 5-10 minutes to the injection time.

    Post-treatment care

After the injections, there’s a brief period for immediate aftercare.

    Aftercare instructions

Your practitioner will spend a few minutes providing post-treatment instructions and answering any questions you may have. This usually takes about 5 minutes.

    Scheduling follow-up

Arranging your next appointment, typically scheduled for 4 weeks later, may take an additional few minutes.

It’s important to note that while the actual injection process for Profhilo is quite quick, usually around 10-15 minutes, the entire appointment may take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes when including consultation, preparation, and aftercare. This time investment ensures that the treatment is performed safely and effectively.

Every patient’s treatment experience can vary slightly based on individual factors such as the number of areas being treated, the need for additional explanations or reassurance, and the specific protocols of different clinics. Your practitioner will be able to give you a more precise estimate of the time required for your specific treatment plan during your initial consultation. Remember, it’s always better to allow a bit more time for your appointment to ensure a relaxed and thorough treatment experience.

Profhilo has a specific recommended treatment protocol designed to achieve optimal results. Understanding this protocol can help patients plan their treatments effectively and set realistic expectations for their skin rejuvenation journey.

    Initial treatment course

The standard Profhilo treatment course consists of two initial sessions.

    First treatment

The first Profhilo session introduces the product to the skin, initiating the bio-remodelling process. This treatment lays the foundation for skin improvement.

    Second treatment

A second treatment is typically administered 4 weeks after the first. This follow-up session enhances and prolongs the effects of the initial treatment, stimulating further collagen and elastin production.

    Maintenance treatments

After the initial course, maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain results.

    Frequency of maintenance

For most patients, maintenance treatments are suggested every 6 months. However, this can vary based on individual factors such as age, skin condition, and lifestyle.

    Personalised schedules

Some patients, particularly those with more mature skin or in harsh environments, may benefit from more frequent treatments, potentially every 3-4 months.

    Treatment adaptations

The standard protocol may be adjusted based on individual needs and responses.

    Intensive courses

In some cases, particularly for patients with significant skin laxity or ageing concerns, practitioners may recommend a more intensive initial course of three treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart.

    Combination therapies

Profhilo treatments may be integrated into a broader skin rejuvenation plan, potentially altering the frequency of treatments when used in conjunction with other procedures.

    Long-term treatment planning

Profhilo is often incorporated into long-term skin maintenance strategies.

    Annual assessment

Many practitioners recommend an annual review of your skin condition and treatment results to adjust the maintenance schedule as needed.

    Preventative approach

Younger patients using Profhilo preventatively may require less frequent maintenance treatments compared to those addressing more advanced signs of ageing.

It’s important to note that while this is the standard recommended course for Profhilo treatments, individual responses can vary. Some patients may see long-lasting results with just the initial two treatments, while others may benefit from more frequent sessions.

Every patient’s skin is unique, and factors such as age, lifestyle, sun exposure, and overall health can influence how often Profhilo treatments are needed to maintain optimal results. Your practitioner will assess your individual needs and response to the treatment to create a personalised long-term plan. Regular follow-ups and open communication with your practitioner are key to adjusting your treatment schedule as needed, ensuring you achieve and maintain the best possible results from your Profhilo treatments.

Profhilo is generally considered a safe treatment with minimal side effects and downtime. However, as with any injectable treatment, there are potential side effects that patients should be aware of. Understanding these can help set realistic expectations and ensure proper post-treatment care.

    Common side effects

Most side effects associated with Profhilo are mild and temporary.

    Injection site reactions

Patients may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects typically subside within 24-48 hours and can often be easily concealed with makeup if necessary.

    Temporary lumps

Some patients may notice small, temporary lumps at the injection sites. These are due to the product’s high concentration and usually disappear within a few hours to a day as the product disperses naturally.

    Less common side effects

While rare, some patients may experience other temporary effects.

    Itching or discomfort

Occasionally, patients may feel mild itching or discomfort in the treated areas. This sensation typically resolves quickly and can be managed with cool compresses if needed.

    Asymmetry

In rare cases, there may be temporary asymmetry due to uneven product distribution. This usually resolves as the product settles and spreads evenly throughout the tissues.

    Downtime considerations

One of the advantages of Profhilo is its minimal downtime.

    Immediate return to activities

Most patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. There’s typically no need for significant time off work or social engagements.

    Minimal restrictions

While it’s advisable to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat exposure, and alcohol consumption for 24-48 hours post-treatment, these restrictions are generally minimal and easy to accommodate.

    Aftercare and recovery

Proper aftercare can help minimise side effects and optimise results.

    Gentle skincare

Patients are usually advised to avoid applying makeup or skincare products for several hours post-treatment. Gentle cleansing and moisturising can typically be resumed the following day.

    Sun protection

As with any skin treatment, proper sun protection is crucial. Patients should apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure in the days following treatment.

It’s important to note that while side effects from Profhilo treatments are generally mild and short-lived, individual experiences can vary. Factors such as skin sensitivity, overall health, and adherence to aftercare instructions can influence the likelihood and severity of side effects.

Every patient’s response to Profhilo can be slightly different. Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare instructions based on your specific treatment and individual needs. If you experience any unexpected or prolonged side effects, it’s crucial to contact your practitioner promptly for advice. During your consultation, your practitioner will discuss potential side effects in detail, ensuring you’re fully informed before proceeding with treatment. This open communication helps ensure a safe and satisfying treatment experience.

Profhilo is known for its progressive and natural-looking results, but understanding the timeline for these improvements can help patients set realistic expectations. The onset and development of Profhilo’s effects occur over a period of time, with results becoming more noticeable as the treatment stimulates the body’s own regenerative processes.

    Initial effects

Some changes may be noticeable shortly after treatment, though these are typically subtle.

    Immediate hydration

Many patients notice an immediate improvement in skin hydration and plumpness due to the high concentration of hyaluronic acid in Profhilo. This effect can give the skin a fresher, more radiant appearance almost immediately.

    Temporary volume

There may be a slight volumising effect immediately after injection, but this is typically temporary and subsides as the product disperses throughout the tissues.

    Short-term results

More noticeable improvements begin to develop in the weeks following treatment.

    Skin texture improvement

Within the first 2-4 weeks after treatment, many patients start to notice improvements in skin texture and firmness. The skin may feel smoother and more supple to the touch.

    Gradual tightening

As Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin production, a gradual tightening effect may become apparent, typically starting around 3-4 weeks post-treatment.

    Long-term results

The full effects of Profhilo treatment develop over time and are often most noticeable after completing the initial treatment course.

    Optimal results

The most significant improvements are typically seen 4-8 weeks after the second treatment (which is usually administered one month after the first). At this stage, patients often notice marked improvements in skin quality, hydration, and firmness.

    Continued improvement

Some patients report ongoing improvements for up to 3-6 months after their second treatment as the bio-remodelling process continues.

    Factors influencing results timeline

The timeline for visible results can vary based on individual factors.

    Age and skin condition

Younger patients or those with mild skin concerns may notice results more quickly, while those with more mature skin or significant laxity may require more time to see optimal improvements.

    Lifestyle factors

Factors such as diet, hydration, sun exposure, and smoking can influence how quickly and noticeably results develop.

It’s important to note that while some patients may see rapid improvements, Profhilo’s effects are designed to develop gradually for a natural-looking enhancement. This gradual onset contributes to the treatment’s subtle yet effective rejuvenation of the skin.

Every patient’s experience with Profhilo can vary, and the timeline for results may differ from person to person. Your practitioner will provide personalised guidance on what to expect based on your individual skin condition and treatment plan. Regular follow-up appointments can help track your progress and determine the optimal timing for maintenance treatments to sustain and enhance your results.

Profhilo has gained popularity for its versatility in addressing various skin concerns across different age groups. However, while it is suitable for many individuals, it’s important to understand that its effectiveness and appropriateness can vary depending on specific skin types, ages, and individual needs.

    Skin type considerations

Profhilo can be beneficial for various skin types, but its effects may differ.

    Dry and dehydrated skin

Individuals with dry or dehydrated skin often see significant benefits from Profhilo due to its intense hydrating properties. The treatment can help improve skin texture and overall appearance in these cases.

    Oily and combination skin

While Profhilo is not specifically designed to address oily skin concerns, it can still provide benefits in terms of skin quality and texture improvement without exacerbating oiliness.

    Age-related suitability

Profhilo can be effective for a wide range of age groups, but its applications may vary.

Younger patients (late 20s to 30s)

For younger individuals, Profhilo can serve as a preventative treatment, helping to maintain skin quality and delay signs of ageing. It can address early signs of skin laxity and improve overall skin health.

    Middle-aged patients (40s to 50s)

This age group often sees significant benefits from Profhilo in addressing more noticeable signs of ageing such as loss of firmness, fine lines, and overall skin quality deterioration.

    Specific skin concerns

Profhilo is particularly effective for certain skin issues, regardless of age or skin type.

    Skin laxity

Those experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity, where the skin has begun to lose its firmness and elasticity, are often excellent candidates for Profhilo treatment.

    Dull or tired-looking skin

Profhilo can help revitalise dull or tired-looking skin by improving hydration and stimulating collagen production, leading to a more radiant complexion.

    Contraindications and limitations

While Profhilo is suitable for many, there are some situations where it may not be recommended.

    Pregnancy and breastfeeding

As with most aesthetic treatments, Profhilo is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to lack of safety data in these populations.

    Active skin conditions

Individuals with active skin infections, inflammation, or certain skin disorders may need to postpone treatment until their condition resolves.

It’s important to note that while Profhilo can benefit a wide range of individuals, the specific outcomes and suitability can vary. Factors such as overall health, lifestyle habits, and existing skincare routines can all influence the effectiveness of the treatment.

Every patient’s skin is unique, and what works well for one person may not be the optimal solution for another. A thorough consultation with a qualified aesthetic practitioner is essential to determine if Profhilo is the most appropriate treatment for your specific skin concerns and goals. Your practitioner will consider factors such as your age, skin type, medical history, and desired outcomes to create a personalised treatment plan that may include Profhilo alone or in combination with other complementary treatments for optimal results.
